Installing the Ford Cartridge to Spin-On Oil Filter Adapter FS-101-BK
Installation Instructions:
For use on 2.7L and 3.0L EcoBoost Engines
Step 1
Step 1: Remove oil filter using 1 1/16” socket.
Step 2
Lubricate internal O-ring on docking collar
Step 3
Install adapter without body and tip
O-rings.
Torque to 40 ft.lbs. using 1” Deep Socket.
Establish side port to be utilized for air valve and
remove adapter.
Step 4
Lubricate hex plugs with oil and install in two
ports not utilized using a 3/16 hex wrench.
Step 5
Install O-rings on adapter body and tip, lubricate all O-rings with oil. Reinstall adapter and torque to 40 ft.lbs. using 1” Deep Socket.
Step 6
Lubricate threads with oil and install 90° fitting (if using) with 15/16” 12-point wrench.
Step 7
Install schrader valve using thread sealing tape. (not included)
Step 8
Install appropriate size oil filter that contains M22x1.5 threads.
Prior to servicing for oil and filter change, apply compressed air with air chuck for 3 seconds, this will evacuate oil filter for easy and clean oil filter removal.
